Description

Four of our best selling titles together at a reduced price and with free shipping – Never Snap at a Bubble, The Tiniest Hippo, Little Brown Monkey and Smokey.

Never Snap at a Bubble is delightfully illustrated by Carol Aitken McLean-Carr. It’s a counting story aimed at three to five year olds with a funny allegorical twist to the tale.

The Tiniest Hippo has lyrical watercolour illustrations by Adelaide artist Donna Gynell. It’s a playful and joyous tale for three to five year olds about a baby Hippo who likes to trick the older Hippos.

Little Brown Monkey, illustrated by Jim Tsinganos, is the tale of a young monkey who loves to dress up – much to the derision of his own villagers until he finds an appreciative audience in the next village – and becomes quite the trend setter back home. A story for three to five year olds.

Smokey – This is a story about a little hen called Smokey who went away to have a little sulk and ended up on a strange adventure that lasted for two hundred miles and three whole days.

What does a little hen have to do to attract the attention of her favourite Vet?

The story of Smokey came via an email from David Aggett, a Vet from England, who is married to Yvonne’s niece Beth. The original email is included at the back of the book. At the risk of sounding clichéd, Smokey is ‘based on a true story!’

Smokey was originally written and illustrated in watercolours by Yvonne for her niece’s children. It was printed in small numbers using a print-on-demand system but its popularity has seen a larger print run in using a traditional publishing method.
